Fluoroquinolone antibiotic, used off-label in rabbits as an alternative to enrofloxacin (Baytril). Sometimes preferred for once-daily dosing convenience. Same fluoroquinolone class — not for juveniles whose growth plates are open. Active ingredient: marbofloxacin.

- Do I need a prescription to order Marbocyl for rabbits?
- Yes. Marbocyl is a POM-V product and requires a written prescription from a UK-registered vet. From 23 September 2026 the CMA Order caps the prescription fee at £21 for the first medicine plus £12.50 per additional medicine on the same prescription.
